TOP - Original chain with 1943 dated tag - Bottom - my reproduction chain

Welcome. Here you will find information about my M1940 Dog Tag Chain reproductions (DESIGN PATENTED). Each chain is hand-made by me to exacting wartime standards. Prior to 1940, a monofilament chord was issued to hold the tags. After 1945, the beaded chain was issued. From 1940 to 1945, this was the chain in use. It features a stainless steel curb link chain with the proper sister hooks to secure the tags in place. Perfect for the World War II reenactor or veteran. Why spend $1000.00+ on an impression, including period underwear, and have an incorrect beaded chain dangling from your neck - in plain site - that any vet would notice. Get yours now!

ABOUT ME - I am a former American History teacher and current WWII reenactor. My impressions include pre-war Coastal Artillery, USMC, 101st Airborne, 2nd Ranger Battalion, Army Air Corp, and Italian Partisan. I have been reenacting for 11 years now and my love for the hobby is what lead me to reproduce these dog tag chains.

By popular demand - instructions - with a diagram - how to put your tags on the chain

At last! Instructions - From the original wrapper below:

INSTRUCTIONS
For insertion or removal of identification tags

Slide hook open sideways with finger nails. Slide, do not force. See illustration No.1

Keep tag in upper corner of clasp as in illustration No.2, when opening or closing. Otherwise the clasp can neither be opened or closed. Then close hooks as in illustration No.3. This locks the identification tag.

NOTE - over the years we have noticed that modern reproduction tags tend to have holes which are not quite as big around as original tags. You might need to widen the hole in your reproduction tags just a hair for a proper fit.
